Virginia Public Radio, managed by WVTF/RADIO IQ, provides news and information reports for Virginia's public radio stations. Reports are filed daily from Richmond and may be heard weekdays during Morning Edition, 9 A.M. - 10 A.M., and All Things Considered, 6 P.M. - 7 P.M.

McDonnell Signs Telemedicine Bill - 4.5.10

Governor McDonnell held a bill signing ceremony for legislation that will expand the practice of telemedicine in Virginia.  The new law paves the way for greater use of services that could potentially provide more access to specialists, curtail the costs and trouble of transporting patients, and even save lives.  Virginia Public Radio's Anne Marie Morgan reports from the State Capitol.

George Allen Comments on Offshore Drilling - 4.2.10

Many Virginia officials are applauding President Obama's decision to allow offshore drilling along Virginia's coast, but one former Governor and Senator isn't getting so excited.  George Allen believes it may be the President's bargaining chip for passage of cap and trade legislaton.  But Allen said during an energy symposium in Richmond the nation must be more proactive in reaching its energy independence.  Virginia Public Radio's Tommie McNeil reports from the State Capitol.

DIRECTIONS TO WVTF/Radio IQ STUDIOS: 

WVTF is located at 3520 Kingsbury Lane, off Franklin Road, in Roanoke City.

From Interstate 81, take exit 143 onto Interstate 581. From Interstate 581/U.S. 220 South, take the Virginia 419 North/Franklin Road Exit. Turn left at the bottom of the ramp. Go to the third stoplight and take a left onto Duke of Glouchester (the Red Lobster and K-Mart are on your left). Continue on Duke of Glouchester until the road makes a sharp right, which becomes Kingsbury Lane. The WVTF building is on the right at the corner of Duke of Glouchester and Kingsbury Lane. Turn right into the parking lot.
